WHAT IS RUNEKOZ?

Runekoz is a collection of 3,333 unique pixel cat Ordinals inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain. Each Runekoz is a one-of-a-kind fighter with unique traits, a house (Fire · Water · Earth), and rarity. They live permanently on Bitcoin — no server can take them away.

The arena has two modes: free 1v1 duels (no entry fee, earn badges and streaks) and 128-player tournaments with $DOG prize pools funded by the Wardinals project. A third mode — Season Mode — is coming soon.

HOW DOES 1V1 WORK?

Two players are matched. Each secretly seals a 3-attack sequence (Fire · Water · Earth, in order) before the reveal. Rounds play out one by one — win 2 of 3 to win the match. You can optionally assign Poison (auto-wins a round, but can be countered) or a Potion (blocks enemy Poison). No entry fee. No prizes. Pure skill and bluffing.

• ☠ Poison auto-wins the round it's assigned to — unless the opponent plays a Potion on the same round
• 🧪 Potion blocks Poison; both players play their normal rune that round
• Ties go to house tiebreak, then coin flip

HOW DO TOURNAMENTS WORK?

Tournaments are 128-player single-elimination brackets. Register for free, wait for the bracket to seed, then submit your 3-attack sequence within 24 hours of each match. Win to advance. Miss the 24h window and your match is auto-resolved with random attacks. The champion earns $DOG from the Wardinals prize pool and the CHAMPION badge — permanently inscribed in your profile.

WHAT IS $DOG?

$DOG (DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON) is a Rune token on the Bitcoin blockchain, airdropped to the Dogecoin community. It is a community meme token with no utility promises and no backing. Its value is set entirely by the market. Tournament prizes are paid in $DOG on-chain.

IS THIS GAMBLING?

1v1 Duels are not gambling — there is no entry fee and no prize. You wager nothing of value. It is a free skill game with badges as rewards.

Tournaments involve a $DOG prize. Because the prize is funded externally (not by player entry fees), the legal profile is closer to a free-to-enter prize contest than gambling. However, laws vary by jurisdiction. Always verify legality in your jurisdiction before participating in tournaments.

TIPS FOR NEW PLAYERS

• 🔢 Order matters — your opponent can't see your sequence until both are revealed. Think about what they expect from you and counter it.
• ☠ Poison is powerful but readable — experienced players will bring a Potion if they expect Poison. Don't use it predictably.
• 🧪 Potion is insurance — assign it to the round you'd most hate to lose.
• 🏠 House is public — your house (Fire/Water/Earth) is visible on your Runekoz NFT. Opponents may try to predict your natural rune preference.
• 🔄 Don't telegraph — mix your sequences. A player on a streak using all Fire is easy to read.
• 🏆 Tournament seeding is random — even a strong player can face a tough bracket. Focus on the match in front of you.

IS THIS AN ALPHA?

Yes. Runekoz is in alpha. This means:

• Bugs may cause incorrect match outcomes — report them immediately.
• Features may change, break, or be removed at any time.
• Tournament prize distribution depends on Wardinals project activity.

This is an experiment built with love — not a polished product. We are grateful for every player who shows up during alpha.

WHEN DOES SEASON MODE LAUNCH?

Season Mode is coming soon. Every player fights once per day. The last cat standing at the end of the season wins the accumulated prize pool. It's a survival game at scale — far more strategic than 1v1. No date is confirmed yet — follow Wardinals for announcements.
